Losing Weight With Jogging

Jogging is a really good cardio-vascular exercise which can give good results if continued religiously atleast 4 days a week. The good part is that to loose weight and remain fit you don't need to jog 10 miles a day. Maybe a mile or two done deligently (with breaks in between if you loose breath) should do the trick. Jogging puts decent stress on our bodies metabolism and works out the cardio-vascular and respiratory systems. This helps in burning fat faster and loosing weight.

As a rule is you burn 500 calories every day, you would end up loosing a pound in a week. What this means is that if you eat around 3000 calories a day and hold that steady while you jog, then you could effectively lose around a pound by the end of the week. So, if you maintain your current diet and add a morning jogging routine then you can be sure to tip the scale to the lighter side.

Since jogging is a dynamic exercise it puts a lot of stress on the leg joints especially the knee. When you start your jogging routine ensure that you have done some light stretching and warm-up exercises. While jogging ensure that you donot restrict your stride by jogging slowly. Instead, try and jog without restricting your natural strides. Take breaks if you get breathless but dont stop and cover the remaining distance by walking. Your body will get accostomed and slowly become better with time in covering the distance in one stretch.
