Chevrolet Volt - Solution to Economic Efficiency

Chevrolet Volt possesses the answer to the current fuel crunch, rising prices and economic melt down. Chevrolet came up with Volt technology keeping the thought in mind to reduce dependency on conventinal fuel like gasoline or ethanol mix E85. Volt is very different than other hybrid cars in the sense that its 1.4 litre gasoline engine does not directly drive the transmission but is instead used to charge the lithium-ion battery pack. The Volt is driven entirely on battery power. Once fully charged, the Volt can cover a distance of 40 miles before it needs a recharge. According to federal estimates, average american office goer does not drive beyoud 40 miles to office. Volt can be recharged overnight which means it can be run continuously without requiring a drop of gasoline. This translates to huge savings in fuel costs.
