James Whitmore no more

Accomplished actor and theatre person, James Whitmore has died due to lung cancer in his Malibu home. James Whitmore was very well known for his performances in one man shows about Harry Truman, Will Rogers and Theodore Roosevelt. James Whitmore also won the Emmy and Tony awards and one of his most memorable roles was in the movie Shawshank Redemption.

A supporter of President Barrack Obama, James Whitmore stated way back in 2007 that Obama was the man who had the intellect to come out with a solution to the confused situation in United States and the world over.

James Whitmore was born in 1921 in White Planes N.Y. His first marriage was with Nancy Mygatt in 1947 out of which the couple had three sons. The couple divorced and Whitmore married actress Audrey Lindley in 1971 only to divorce and remarry his first wife in 1979. A second divorce ensued in 2001 and Whitmore finally married Noreen Nash.
