Swine Flu Cases Increase Worldwide
According to the WHO, there have been 600 confirmed cases of Swine Flu caused by the H1N1 strain. So far, 15 countries have reported confirmed cases of Swine Flu. The highest number of cases some 400 are reported from Mexico alone. Next in line is USA with around 150 cases. A lot of people have been quarantined in China and Hongkong especially certain people who volunteered for work in Mexico or visited Mexico due to official reasons.

Information About Common Cold - Causes and Treatment
Common Cold is caused by a type of virus known as Coronavirus. Just like any other virus Coronavirus is just a packet of DNA information in a dormant state until the virus enters its host. Thats when the Coronavirus infects the host cells with its DNA and grows rapidly. The host in turn fights back kick starting its defence system. The effects of this defence is Common Cold.
Common Cold is characterised by all or some of these symptoms like running nose, sinusitis, head ache, body pains, lethargy, fever, nausea, itching in eyes etc. These symptoms are just a reflex action of the body against the Coronavirus. And the reason why the Common Cold is so common is because there are more than 150 different types of Coronavirus. Rhinovirus is another cause of Common Cold. More viruses are being found nearly every year. Common Cold symptoms should not be taken lightly because several deseases have similar symptoms during their early stages.
Common Cold is generally caused by infection spread throught the air like when somone sneezes, coming in contact with bodily fluids like nasal discharge of someone affected with Common Cold, not washing hands after coming in contact with a Common Cold patient etc.
There is no defined timeline or cure for coming out of Common Cold. The human body automatically fights and takes its time to fend of a Common Cold attack. However, there are certain to dos which can be used to help ease the discomfort of Common Cold. Two of the most important are getting plenty of rest and driking lots of warm fluids. Along with this use anti inflamatory drugs and painkillers if you have headaches. Antibiotics will not help during Common Cold.

Lower Back Pain - Symptoms and Treatment
Lower back pain is characterised by any sort of discomfort in the area between the ribcage and where the hips start. The pain can be just a dull feeling or a sharp pain concentrated in a small area. Lower back pain is characterised by pain in the muscle due to stress or general weakness of the muscle, pulled ligaments or tendons in the back and pain in the bones due to stress. In severe conditions lower back pain maybe caused to due to hernia, dislocation, fractures due to osteoperosis etc.
General causes of lower back pain are sedentary lifestyle especially where sitting in a bad posture for long duration leads to back problems and spondylitis, lifting heavy weights without proper posture like arching your back and accidental causes which lead to muscle pulls or vertebrae damage.
Treatment for lower back pain will vary depending upon the type of injury. Usually lower back problems are associated with lack of regular exercise combined with bad sitting postures. Whatever maybe the case the doctor may advise you to go for XRays or CT Scans. Part of the treatment will focus on keeping your posture correct so that the back is not stressed. Along with such precautions the doctor will prescribe anti inflamatory and painkiller drugs.
Depending upon how fast the recovery process is, the next steps would involve exercising your back muscles to make them stronger. This goes a long way in keeping your posture straight and helps in avoiding future injuries. Consulting a physiotherapist would be good idea. Physiotherapy will help you tone your entire body. The back muscles play a major role in transfering load from the upper body to the lower body and vice-versa. Therefore, maintaing a strong back will ensure that your entire load bearing capacity is increased.
